Also, continuity error, (Unless it's a perspective change) but didn't the manticore just smash that table a few seconds before? And if it isn't the same one why hasn't it been annihlated yet? You made a point to show some (Minor) destruction and then when the bad guy enters everything seems to be where he left it with fur coats and weapons neatly hanging on the wall and so forth...

The room has a potion table and a skinning table. 2 different tables! The door was barred from the other side. Locks don't help when your prisoners can just break the door down.

That's why I brought up the fact that they were smashing everything. You'd think they'd go after the implements that are designed to cut them up in new and exiting ways first.
I was talking about the machine and why it had the safety equivalant of a push-start button on a motorcycle.
However, that also brings up the question of why the big bad knew they were smashing his lab up but didn't know they had escaped. I still question why he wouldn't post a gaurd outside the prison cells if their occupants were so valuable and why he would rush into his lab by himself without backup when there were seven angry mythical beasts in there, including his supposed assassin.
