Now....
This is what happens when a conspiracy of mine ends up with success.
I say conspiracy because I was planning this piece for months prior to actually getting it done.... But let's start in order.

So this is a friend of mine (I did say I have Demon friends, deal with it XD ), who shares a lot of my newly-fledged passion for Black Metal (and notably Dimmu Borgir), my old but ageless passion for darkness, fire, Demons, aaaaaaaaand.... well, other things.... Yeah. When you meet someone who speaks your language, you just know. The idea for this came into being because of all this, and it came to me back in.... September? I think so. I knew what I wanted to draw, but just couldn't picture it in my head and I hate starting a drawing without being able to picture what I'm gonna draw. And so I laid it down in a darker and cooler corner of my twisted mind, I let it ferment a bit, so that when I'd open it up again its scent would have become nobler and.... wait, I wasn't talking about wines. One day he made himself a corpse-paint and sent over some pictures for me to enjoy. And this is when the idea thunder-struck me. I rushed down to the basement of my mind, opened the almost-forgotten bottle and I realized the spirit had been born inside! I drew it over just a couple days (which is very fast for me), with a lot more dash than actual technique (but this turned out to be the better way for drawing flames, Hell, I LOVE drawing fire), and voila! It was complete just in time for his birthday. Totally by chance, yeah, right.
When I say this, the irony is that back in the autumn the thought of doing the drawing for his birthday did circle my mind for a while but I was like "nooooo, that's soooo far, I will draw it now and it will have to lay in my drawer and wait for 3 months, no way" .... does that even need a further comment?

About the design.... and the name. I borrowed from here and there.... and everywhere I could think of XD
The posture was borrowed from a photo of Shagrath I like kinda much (namely this one: fav.me/d1opnpk (w00t, I didn't know it was uploaded on dA!!!) - which was also his avatar for a while).... ummm, that doesn't include the wings and tail (I bet you didn't notice there's a tail, lol); the outfit was more or less based on Shagrath's on this same photo and my friend's own jackets and gloves and.... oh, yeah, the corpse-paint - also based on both Shagrath's and what my friend had done for those photos that inspired me.
The ref I used for the pendant (which is a real one he owns by the way) was a photo he sent to me for a totally different drawing.... as well as one or two other shots of himself he didn't know what I was going to use for. Mwahahahaha, the Conspiracy Unfolds :evillaugh:
As for the name, it's simple. That's kinda his nickname.
