I was going to finally upload my ideas for what the Quarians from mass effect looked like for this prompt as I dug out the loft my old art from years ago including some of my ideas and designs for them. But I’m buried in paper right now, and I need more time to dig out all my old art, scan it and do a long explanation as to why I designed them the way I did. Basically It needs more attention, and I’m a bit busy at the moment, so instead have a little creature dump involving the theme of masks.
Bottom left is a fakemon. Poison type involving gas masks. Maybe an armadillo-like Pokémon who changed to poison after eating pollutants when its environment was destroyed by industrial waste. Now it eats the toxins and emits both clean air, or poisonous air as a defence.
Worm masks because of course. Grinning worms are meant to be part technological, so these masks prevents your worm from being hacked or doxxed in their part-computer brains. Customizable to match your personal worm!

to me it's too boring that they made them, as well as the asari (worse species ever for being xenophobes pretending to be so tolerant but they don't move a finger when shit gets real) to look 'too human' in the faces. It would have been more itneresting if we could have seen three eyes glowing under the quarians's masks or something and to make the asari more looking like squids since they already have tentacles on the head. A bit too convenient that the female interests available for man on ME are "too closely to human" aliens, but we all know how EA does and WANTS the stuff XD
Oh yeah! I always liked the idea that the Aasri don;'t look human at all and they do things to species minds to make them seem more attractive. You see hints of this more in Mass effect 2 but they kind of dropped the idea. which is a shame, i'm picturing something with shifting tentacles to give the shape that appealing to whoever is looking at them.
