Madam Jade knows that Prince Hogan (the nearly naked guy with the colorful hair) is married to Princess Madeline, the Heir of the Duchess of Ngorongoro. Not wanting to get herself in trouble with a Duchess, Jade is hyperinflating her prices, rather than flatly refusing them, and not-so-subtly hinting that she does not wish to do business with a married Prince whose mother-in-law could destroy Jade's business entirely. While Zaphod's "Peril-Sensitive Glasses" had lenses that turn black so he can avoid seeing things that might harm him, it would probably be more useful if Fred's glasses just went out of focus when they detected Live Nekkid Wimmin in the area. But that's very difficult to draw.
