The Absolute State of Googly-Oh!™, starring Yugiorno!
✨FAIR AND BALANCED✨
Recently I had my most infuriating experience with competitive Yugioh at a Konami sanctioned event to date, so I was obligated to direct my unbridled rage into creating something amusing :B
This dumb little card game has some massive flaws, and they may never be addressed by Konami, which is sad. Oh well, making parodies of it is fun at least! Enjoy.

Honestly the state of the game has not been super enjoyable for a few ban lists now. Last two competitive regionals I've been to I thought I was about to get physically harmed because time rules not working out in someone's favor after self burning. Hopefully they eventually revert time back to as it once was so playing for time and slow play aren't as much of a factor.
Pokemon and MtG have it where it goes 3 turns from when the clock hits zero, which sounds perfectly fine. I think this used to be what Yugioh did years and years ago, and I have no idea why Konami changed it. Either way I'm completely floored that Konami ever made such a stupid decision in the first place.
Yeah that's how it used to be for the longest time, I can't remember if it was before or after COVID they changed it. I know it was when trickstar was still playable and people got really salty at -200 for every interaction.
Regardless, it's a change I want reverted. The 3 turns starting at turn zero when time was called seemed more fair than finish current phase and that's all. It helps make events shorter, but if you lose to time/slow play, it hurts some kind of fierce.

The complexity has its pros and cons, but as the power creep progresses, the longer it takes to plan out a turn, and that directly conflicts with Konami's shitty time rules. When all the cards are an encyclopedia with more and more text, well, good luck making it in time.
