Early Years: born on the Leberchian Colonies. Lauran Kaneeko lived a life of almost complete fear of her step father. one year after she hatched. her father was killed during the Leberchian Worker Revolt. her mother stayed strong however. working hard to insure she and Lauran had a home to come home to and food in their bellies. when Lauran was 3 1/2 years old, her mother met a man whom both of them thought was an okay guy. his name was Henry Dahes. Lauran and her mother at the time felt Henry was a kind individual, and her mother truely believed she fell in love with the seemingly good natured Mr. Dahes. both women's lives changed when Lauran's mother and Henry got married. Lauran and her mother where happy. for a while. until one night. Henry came home from work. Lauran greated her step father with a hug and a kiss. he greated her with a punch in the muzzle and a kick in the stomach. completely shocked as to what her stepfather had done. she went crying to her mother. initialy, her mother thought she was making things up. even though she saw the bruises she didn't let herself believe Henry did it because she didn't want to be that woman who has an abusive husband.
as the years progressed, things where not well in the household. it didn't take long for Henry to start beating on both his wife and step child. both women went to the hospital with broken bones, bruises, blacken eyes. and for Lauran in particular. a broken tusk and her tentacles having to be decapitated because they where so badly damaged when Henry crushed them to the point the muscle tendons where damaged. after that night, Lauran and her mother left Henry for good. or... so they thought.
two months after the two left Henry's abusive hands. Lauran and her mother started to love a new life. a much happier one. Lauran was growing up she is now 11 years old now and starting to find a great interest into machinery and how to repair, disassymble and rebuild them. her mother at the time had stopped looking for a new male to fill in the shoes of her first husband. Lauran had came home from school one late tuesday night. she walked into her house with no sign of her mother. the house was trashed. with blood on the floor. she searched the house for a moment before finding her mother laying dead in a pool of blood in her bedroom with her phone in hand. Lauran ran to her mother, trying in vein to revive her. the door behind her closed and when she turned to see her killer she didn't believe her eyes when Henry locked the door. a bloody knife in hand and blood all over his cloths. she tried desperately to fight her former step father off to protect her mother dispite her being dead. both being tired and being smaller and weaker did not help to her advantage. Henry attacked Lauran with little mercy in his eyes. he cut and stabbed her repeatedly. he decided to end the attack by slashing her throat. he left the young Komodogalionus for dead that night. but what he didn't know was that Lauran had infact lived. maracurasly surviving dispite her injuries. Lauran called emergency and authority services. she was hospitalised for five months and an even longer recovery road ahead of her. Lauran had told the Police everything about what happened that night. and with that, a warrent went out for Henry's arrest.
Although she survived. she was greatly scared. Lauran had lost her mother. the paramedics where unable to revive her that night because she was dead much too long. had they gotten there sooner she could have been saved. lauran blamed herself for the death of her mother. had she come home sooner she may have been able to save her. sence her recovery, Lauran was never the same. her will and soul was broken
Education in Mechanics: After she recovered from her injuries, Lauran went to collage and studied mechanics and engins. she was seen as an above avarage student. however she had troubles in school when it came to social behavior. she would never partner up with anybody and stayed distant from other students. she was considered an outcast and made fun of constantly due to her scars and large busted frame. it wasn't all bad for Lauran. she found a great refuge in her first job as a machanic under her own right. she fixed Cars, Trucks, and the larger semi trucks. the people she worked for didn't pry so much and usualy left her to her job. when it came to the final exams for her collage courses. she passed and graduated. one would think she would be happy. but she wasn't. nobody clapped when her name was called and her deploma handed to her. and when she took her seat. and empty chair stood in the audences. it was obvious she missed her mother the most that day.
Enrollment into the Komodogalionus Empirial Mechanic Engeneer Services: when the War with the Carchagalionus flaired up. Lauran at first had no desire to join. however, that changed when planet Leberchian was attacked. during the madness Lauran made it to a escape shuttle. she watched out the window of the shuttle as her home was destroyed. she watched as her mother's grave was trampled by tanks and the feet of Carchagalionus soldiers. Lauran grew angry by that sight and something inside her awakened. a much aggressive Lauran made her arrival.
when the shuttle landed on Thaida, the Komodogalionus Home Planet. Lauran walked out of the shuttle with angry eyes. when she was greated by a MP the first thing she did was break his jaw with a sucker punch. this got her arrested on the spot. when asked why she punched the MP, she simply replied 'You have No Idea the shit I went through!' this scared the interigation officer when she looked at him. she did 100 hours of community service and did what she was good at fixing machines and vehiicles. when a general of the Komodogalionus Military saw Lauran's potential he talked her into joining the Komodogalionus Carchagalionus War by becoming an Engeneer Officer. and would use his high ranking to lessen her sentence. she took the job, feeling she had no other use in the universe.
throughout the years Lauran rose through the Ranks. seeing many battles in her years of service. and although she didn't realy have any hatred against the Carchagalionus themselfs she used her rage to save the people of her ship many times due to enemy boardings.
in EY 1995, Lauran was working on a ship under the command of a Commander Shraemetrel. the ship had become attacked by two enemy Capital Ships. during the battle. the Commander's ship had substained so much damage she pleaded the Commander to abandon ship. he agreed ordering her and the crew to escape. but the commander stayed. Lauran and few others escaped the Tornetar before it was destroyed by a weapon the Enemy Ship fired. the blast destroyed both ships and damaged the lead enemy ship. after that day Lauran worked on other ships but none of them she felt was the one she felt was the one she belonged on.
Employment under the Command of Rahl: in EY 2010, Lauran was hired by a new Ship Master, at first thinking it was going to be like all the others. Lauran didn't give her new commanding officer a noteworthy greating. mostly chewing her out the first day they met. the commander much to her surprise did not become angry with her, but instead asked her her name. Lauran did so and when she asked the name of her Ship Master, she was shocked when she heard her last name, Rahl Shraemetrel. she was amazed that she was talking to the Commander's daughter. Lauran lightened up on her commander and sence then have talked more and more. Rahl came to understand Lauran and Lauran understood Rahl. and formed a sisterly bond. Rahl gave her the rank of first class Chief Engeneer.
Relationship with Rahl: The relationship between Rahl and Lauran are like that of long lost sisters. both of wich lost their parents and both had a dark anger inside them both. they where kindrid spirits in a way. Rahl is one of the few of the intire crew of the ship who is a true friend to Lauran. and often helps make Lauran feel better when she is down. Lauran also likes Rahl's 'Frosty' demeaner. and have coined the nickname for her. Rahl is also the one female Komodogalionus Lauran feels reminds her of her mother dispite Rahl being much younger then her. Lauran is also a fan of Rahl's artwork and considers her family. again like her sister.
Relationship with Carley: although the two rarely interact, Lauran does like Carley as a friend and has nothing against her. she finds Carley's shyness to be dangerous for her well being and feels she should toughen up. but dispite this still likes her and would like to know her even better.
Relationship with Kei: when they first met Lauran didn't think much of Kei. but after the two talked for a while, she found yet another kindrid spirit in the form of Kei. she sympasized with him for his feeling of being alone. she also felt sympathy for his disfigured form. although Rahl found it attractive, Lauran felt Kei's pain the most. knowing what its like to be ridiculed by her looks. Kei has sence then considered Lauran his best friend and almost like a sister. the two even joke that they are the scared children of tragady. in wich Rahl adds she has to make Jackets. if Lauran isn't with Rahl, then she is usualy with Kei. dispite their close friendship, neither Kei nor Lauran find any sexual attraction to eachother. if not a more close brother/sister bond.
Personality: Lauran's past has made her Emotionaly hostile both to others and to herself, and it makes her distant from others. she never goes to the mess hall, and when she does its just to repair something that 'the dumbass crew members' broke. she is the most hostile to men. she is also very ashamed of her body. especialy her scares. she does find comfort however when Kei and Rahl tell her how beautiful she is in her own way. and both individuals are always truthful to her. dispite her tough exterior, Lauran can be a kind individual. and once you let her get to know you and she learns she can trust you. she will great you with a kiss and a hug one thats not so diffrent from the one she would have given her step father before he first beat her. Lauran also doesn't like to talk much about her past. she would only tell some one when she feels a real relation with that person. or if she feels someone loves her. she always gets mad at herself when she cries but when she is with Rahl or Kei, she knows she'll have a shoulder to cry on. she is also very effectionant.
Interests: Lauran's overall interests are Machines, Engins, and building and repairing things. her living quarters looks more like a garage then a room where a person sleeps and lives in. she is also a fan of science fiction and loves robot movies. she also likes to watch romance movies. even though she feels she won't find anybody, she still likes to watch the sex scenes and still wishes she can experiance real love. she wants to own her own repair shop. fixing things such as vehicles and some appliances.
Phew! finaly after all this time I finished her. meet Lauran. it took a long time to draw her and I just love this character. I know she has large breasts. and wide hips. BUT I did this because a good female friend of mine was like this, and we don't get enough real women like this in OC's and art. originaly she was to have a tool belt, but I decided to give her a normal look.
I have to say. I choked up writing most of this. it broke my heart thinking of most of this. believe it or not. it was originaly supposed to be her biological father to abuse her sence she was a chick. but I couldn't stand the idea of somebody abusing a baby Komodogalionus. or a human baby for that matter.
Lauran embodies the countless cases of children of all ages that suffered child abuse and loss. although some who where lucky to have a happy life, Lauran gears more twards the not so fortunant individuals.
