Okay, I guess time for another update.
The finer details of each room are giving me some trouble, so I've decided to create physical note cards to help keep everything sorted. It's rather difficult keeping everything straight because it's a genuinely big maze.
Anyway, I almost got the entire bestiary designed. Only three... okay maybe 3 and a half left really, but should explain that first.
This is one of the toads you'll face.... which one? Well, one out of dozens really. No, I meant what I said last week that Elementals are the ones you'll run into the most. Toads are going to be a special type of encounter where their power is highly dependent upon their numbers. Don't be fooled though, they're not so easy to take down.
Next is the Troglodyte Zombie. Big brutish... stupid slow... Stinks to high heaven. Obviously, they're much stronger than any swarm of frogs. And yes, you do have to be careful of their bite.
And then there's the.... for legal reason, I can only call it a "Golem". I like the little chubby guy. And when I say small, I mean that they're only slightly bigger than a microwave. They are resilient, but not quite as much as say the Earth Elemental. As a neat little bonus, when you defeat it, you'll find a mushroom treat of questionable origin. I'll heal your HP.
Last, but certainly not least is my game's version of the Shrieker Mushroom. The first design I made for this project, even if it wasn't the first to be finalized. I considered that these particular mushrooms will cause passive damage, but I was probably thinking too hard about that. Oh, and this thing is going to be slightly smaller than depicted here, well, they all are going to be different sizes, but that should have been obvious. That said.... probably be best not to eat this particular mushroom. Just say'n...
