"Hmm?" Cutter looked over at his smaller companion.
"That on your head. The... eye covering?"
He grinned and pulled it off, splashing it in the water and rubbing some fog off the lens. "It's a dive mask, and well, I needed it before to see in the water. Now, I guess it lets me remember the old life a little."
Reef smirked and bapped him lightly with her tail. "Do you really need to remember all that?"
"Yeah," Cutter chuckled. "I guess I do."
Way back when all this began, Cutter found out his "deal" made with a bottlenose dolphin named Reef led to her being changed too. After a fun trip exploring the shallows, they settled in some shallow water to talk and relax.
