Was talking some Kimba stuff on Discord and got inspired to do this idea... a little re-imagining that rather than Leo/Kimba constantly carrying around and wearing his dead father’s hide around for guidance he’d instead wear Panja’s claw or tooth on a necklace
Like I get it, I’m pretty sure Tezuka intended it to be the equivalent of carrying around the ashes of your deceased loved ones, but idk. Imo there could have been way less creepier ways to translate that idea rather than literally wearing the skin of your dead dad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Real Lion King <3
Also, there is nothing wrong with that. In many cultures people use pelts for performances and such. Plus, Kimba wants to be near his father. In the 1989 version he risks his life to go save his father's pelt from the people who killed him. Then he takes the pelt home. Kimba is feeling down and powerless to protect his home, his friends and be a good king. His father's spirit appears to him and gives him basically the same speech that Mufasa gave to Simba in order to boost his confidence. Fun fact. The scarred lion also guilt trips Kimba and runs him out of the jungle basically the same way Scar did to Simba.
