This is a full-length, early version/demo of "The Summer of '87", which features an entirely different set of instruments compared to the final master, and is set in the keys of C and D (as opposed to B-flat and B in the final master). Formerly known as "The Summer of '86".
The instruments used are:
- Linn LM1 (originally released in 1979) - main rhythm
- Oberheim OB-Xa (originally released in 1981) - spiccato synth strings
- E-MU Emulator II (originally released in 1984) - custom rhythm guitar strums and mutes
- Roland JX-8P (originally released in 1985) - sync lead
- Yamaha DX7 II (originally released in 1986) - "BASS.1", main melody "CLAV.19", "E.PIANO", and "STRINGS.2" presets
