The Border

The far west is the world's least explored region. Mostly because of the potential hazards that it puts on the explorer, it is best not to venture too far into the region. Furthermore, civilization comes to an end in this region. Beyond the border, there is no settlement, kingdom, or even barbarians. It is also the main reason for the lack of a border wall; only the towers serve as an outpost/shelter, and no enemy will attack from that land. For the record, there is no evidence of a civilised far-western world. The only way to solve this mystery is to explore this region, but countless explorers and archaeologists have gone there and never returned. Except for Minp, who was born, raised, and survived there before making his way to the Imperial City.

As they near the border, Minp and Ava decide to take a break at a small spring where they can get a good idea of how big the tower is. It extends beyond the horizon until it meets the southwest coast. Standing near the spring, Ava is tempted to swim in one of the pools. It doesn't take long for her to get into it. The pool may be small, but it's too deep for her, and Ava doesn't care.

What would they find beyond this border? Are the biomes as hazardous as they have been told?

Some lore about my little fantasy world, it mostly inspired from my old novel. Im a big fan of a well protected border with a big, crazy and wasteful infrastructure that are too overengineered. Im planning on doing another drawing of big scifi building soon.
