We return once again to the forests of Shangrila to meet one of the most bizarre predators of this wyvern-ruled land. This is the Snuffle Skulker.

This dog-sized predator is closely related to the Snifflers we discussed a few weeks back. Unlike its minuscule relatives, this creature invested in obtaining a larger size and thusly filling the role of the top carnivore within the undergrowth of the forest; most smaller wyverns have kept their ability to fly, thus leaving that particular niche up for grabs.

The Snuffle Skulker uses its long nose, which at this point might as well be called a trunk, to locate small prey and statch it when it least expects it.
The Snuffler's trunk, in terms of use and functionality, can be likened to both an elephant trunk and a chameleon tongue. While not as sticky as the chameleon's main weapon, it is dexterous enough and durable enough to shoot forward and wrap around a smaller creature and squeeze the life out of it, right before putting it into the Skulker's mouth.

One other noteworthy thing is that the Snuffle Skulker is also a fan of wyvern eggs. While cautious by nature, it will not ignore an unguarded nest if it manages to find one. Depending on the size of the nest owner, it will take whatever it can carry away to a safer location and enjoy the stolen eggs at its leisure (even the smallest victory against Shangrila's dominant inhabitants is worth the risk).
