Honestly, I was/am not sure either. I'm anything BUT a CBD truther, lol.
But at that point it was a matter of desperately trying to find *something* that worked, because her anxiety kept getting worse and worse, and the CBD seemed to help more than some of the other things that had been recommended. At this point, we're now JUST doing the vet-prescribed meds, the stress-relief vitamin, the special prescription diet, and a new "calming care" prescribed probiotic-- and has generally been doing okay.

While I honestly don't know if it's right for every situation, there's a full-on industry for pet CBD products. I got them from my local pet supply store (brand was "Super Snout" iirc if you want to look into it) and they were just little nuggets you could either feed directly to the dog/cat or (in the case of my picky goblin), crumble into some wet food. They seem to be mainly aimed at managing anxiety/stress but they had some varieties that were for joint issues or other things.
Some people swear by it, so it's worth looking into (with vet input ofc) if your pet has ongoing pain or stress issues.
