I had to reread your explanation of Shilo's current purpose and her master's desire and request of her before I understood the context of her pregnancy, but that is a fascinating and well-met take on fulfilling her currently-bound significant other's wish for new hires as the genie and mortal fennec travel together, I assume on his merchant route, or perhaps a group of caravanserai he or his family maintains?

I don't believe I've ever seen a legitimate djinn or genie who took a mephiform shape like Shilo's, and I must admit I'm more than a little smitten by this lovely magickal metagoddess in skunk form.

I would not beg her service or binding if she currently has a master or mistress and obligation to them, but bearing in mind her adventurous and heartily positive nature and manner I might ask her a wish or few of my own, if I found for my own a comfortably strong-smelling and curiously shining vintage lamp, scented strongly of skunk-female.

And I'd rub it lovingly, then rub lovingly further the result of what came out of it. <3

Something like that, getting their children to help run rest stops and tourist stops along the trade routes. Helps keep things nice and safe because it's difficult to put one over on somebody who can pull on a genie's level of power when defending their home.

And, of course, the fennec gets to have fun along the way, too. As does Shilo. She prefers him to most of her previous masters who got too interested in their own power and requirements and just treated her as a tool.

As for not seeing many skunk genies before... that's not entirely surprising, given skunks are pretty much a North American animal only and the djinn tradition is from the Arabian peninsula for the most part. So it's an odd combination to start with.

Novelty is part of the spice of life, and I mean that neither abstractly nor flippantly. That in her adaption to physical form she took- or it chose her, bearing in mind that part of the basics of magick is predicated coincidence; not that the magician nor the magick knows beforehand but the end choice and result is waiting in the future, like spacetime tugging forward from its past the profession of possibility- the form of a humanoid animal no-one in their part of the world or their ancestors, mortal fursons or deminatural wishbeasts, had ever remotely seen nor heard of in fourlegged or humanoid form, suggests that there was a reason she took the form of a skunk.

It's not that even she would know now, or might ever know. But the reason was present and prepared for her. I thought my suggestion of their new assistants- and apparently, her demigod and demigoddess progeny and not purely mortal servants as both servicefolk, custodians and one-furson security and defense- might've been as new 'hires' to take up posts at each stop they made on a caravanserai route given the part of the world both master and mistress lives in by context.

Question further, if I may: what kind of breadth does Shilo's inherent wish-granting abilities cover? I mean, is she literally a classic 'rabbit out of the hat' genie who can rouse up reality-manipulation and matter-and-energy creation in about any way her mental process can shape her abilities, sort of a sibling-power to your own fusion-elemental abilities in a way but based on magic rather than quantum and material physics and non-conservative mass and energy manipulation and projection?
