"Were you not expecting this to be your surprise, Liekki," Varuna quipped out with a knowing smirk at the drake, a drake which stood there. An expression of both disbelief and endearment was painted all over his face, his mouth rising and falling as though mimicking a fish's lips. It took a moment for him to break out of his stupor and launch himself right into the sea dragon, a cackle ringing out as he wrestled her right down into the sand.
"Are you joking? This is exactly what I wanted," Liekki exclaimed in a joyous shout, violently nuzzling and bumping his snout all around Varuna's. He nipped furiously and happily at her beautiful snout, eliciting little yips and giggles from the sea dragon before he pulled himself off of her. She rolled over onto her side as he bounded and pranced around his gift; four tiny, four healthy, four ALIVE eggs. A proud mother dragon once again, it seemed like eons ago when she lost her first young. Ever the elusive dragon she was, guided in by a glimmering light such as this handsome drake before her.
"Settle down dear! Might not want to frighten the poor things before they can see you," Varuna remarked playfully, her forest green eyes half lidding as she rolled the rest of the way onto her belly, crawling right over to the clutch of eggs. It was a temporary nest for now, a proper one now in the works after laying them. The space drake joined her opposite of her side of their younglings, taking her webbed paw into his own with a firm squeeze. He tips his head forward and presses his forehead to her own, gazing ever so amorously into her eyes. His sea dragon, and their future, their legacy cradled by the beach where he first met her.
