Kitako Kura was born to parents of mixed Hausa (west and central African ethnicity) and Swahili (east African ethnicity) heritage and possesses the ability to interact with weather patterns and geology to create various natural disaster phenomena, such as tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis and storms, at an extremely localised (but nonetheless powerful) scale. He is able to exert considerable control over the phenomena he creates, and through training, has demonstrated the ability to affect large areas as well as concentrate his powers to only affect small, precise locations. To date, the largest area he has been able to cover is 5 square miles, which occurred when he accidentally set off a magnitude 4 earthquake in his home city Brazzaville while trying to learn how to control his abilities. By contrast, he has also been able to concentrate his abilities to just a few metres squared, such as when he intervened in a nearby mugging by hitting the assailant with an extremely small but precise tornado which knocked the assailant off their feet without causing any external damage.
Kitako started developing his powers at the age of 8, not long after his home city experienced severe flooding from the Congo River. He goes by the pseudonym Cataclysm which is in reference to the word of the same name which means a violent and large scale event in the natural world. His attribute is called 'Act of God' in English, named after his ability to induce natural disasters. It is known as 'Aikin Allah' in Hausa and 'Acte de Dieu' in French. He is able to speak both French and English. He also knows a little bit of the Hausa language, taught to him by his mother Mikaili. Kitako never knew his father, he was out of the picture before Kitako was born, and he was raised by his mother and her partner Jeshaiah Okinyo.
Kitako is a percussionist and has played drums for over 10 years. He is experienced in playing a wide range of traditional African drums and percussion such as the djembe and talking drum. He currently lives in Paris, where he works as a drummer in various bands and ensembles, specialising in styles such as latin R&B and hip-hop as well as african inspired latino styles such as reggae and congolese rumba. He supplements his income by working part-time as a bartender in a nightclub in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Kitako is also a very good dancer, and although he's plumped up and put on a bit of weight since moving to France, he still practices on a regular basis, and performs in the odd nightclub from time to time. Let's just say he's one for the chubby chasers.
