This adorable couple is in for some new adventures. For them, it's more of an exploration mission, and it's Ava's first mission doing real imperial frontier army work during her semester break.
Of course, she is not part of the military. Minp, the Imperial Forces' second Commander in Chief, holds that position. Ava simply wishes to spend time with him in the woods.
Their mission is purely invented for this occasion. To give Ava the impression that she is a frontierswoman. The mission, however, takes place on a real frontier, hundreds of kilometres from the Imperial city. Where no one has ever set foot on those lands.
It certainly will not be dangerous for them. It's not like they will stumble into deep water and drown there. Or get captured by natives and cannibalised by them. Or get eaten by carnivorous plants and slowly digested alive. Or get stuck in one of many bottomless mud pits and get sucked under in less than a minute. They are definitely well prepared for that.
Ava was given the Mk3 Multipurpose Mana-Powered Suit prototype to test its potential abilities at the frontier. Despite not having learned any magical spells, she has a lot of mana in her due to the fact that is a vulpine. The suit is intended to drain her mana and convert it into useful energy, such as the five elements of magic. Making a hologram to access any information stored in the suit or cast a basic spell without the hassle of the spellcasting process is one example. The most useful and life-saving one of all is it can heals the wearer. Furthermore, the swimming module allows non-swimmers like her to manoeuvre underwater like Olympic athletes, but at a high cost in mana due to the power required by the microthruster and computing unit.
That's what Ava will depend on. For Minp, technology is for the weak. Surviving and exploring are two of his specialties. His childhood was all about trying to stay alive in a hazardous jungle. Therefore, he is well experienced for this mission.
