Pyrados’s parents had often lectured him on the terrible, twisted, dark fate of those Orokin who neglect to properly dedicate themselves to the principle of Beauty. How the culmination of imperfection slowly claws away at their being, turning them into the grim and barbarous shadows of themselves, revelling only in cold-blooded spite. Like many others, he largely dismissed these speeches of his elders. It was not until his first year at the Imperial administration that he learned the Crooked Man was real.
Like all myths, of course, his too had outgrown its source thanks to iterations of maliciously educational exaggerations. In reality the Crooked Man looked no less Ororkin than any of those sitting at the table, yet without a doubt he was infinitely more flawed. His dark green, hooded eyes sat above gently sagging rings, age carving faint wrinkles around them. The bridge of his bony, angular nose curved slightly to the left at its apex, as if bearing memory of an old and shameful punch. Long decades had moulded delicate asymmetry into his meagre face, cheekbones misaligned in height, brows arcing at odd angles, jaw tilted to one side. Languidly thin dreadlocks framed his worn visage, their colour drained by the years fading into an indistinguishably pale shade of sandbrown. The fabric of his lustrous black toga swayed around limbs waned by age, the silk and ornate chain adornments veiling his lanky figure almost adequately enough. The celestial architecture of his Orokin pride seemed to rebel in vain against the marks etched into his body by time in a pale blue, dissonant melody.

I originally dreamed up this guy up as some prominent semi-antagonistic figure for my Operator's background story. And then he just took over and ran away with the show and now is my Main Man™. And now has some 50 pages worth of fanfic written.
((also, I actually have 3 Orokin characters because for some reason I find their spiel much more interesting than the Tenno x) ))
