Number three, the appointed big sister of the party, Sourk the Aarakocra. A Hunter Ranger, Sourk left home as soon as she was 3 (Aarakocra maturity) to better her archery skills. Calculating, reliable, and with a mischievous flare to her, she’s often the strategist for the party. She’s precise in how things are supposed to be laid out and executed. Though, when she isn’t keeping everyone from dying or doing something they shouldn’t, she can be rather carefree and usually sticks around Nisha and Eko. More so for supervision than anything else. She is pretty good friends with them and the rest of the party, but ever since getting to the Oasis, Sourk has noticed her and Nisha butting heads far more often than they’d like.
I had a very interesting experience designing Sourk, since I’ve really only drawn birds twice before her. Fortunately, her player gave me free roam of what she would look like, which was both a relief and a lot of pressure, since I didn’t want to make her look boring or bland for an American Kestrel. I was very glad she loved her as much as she does ^^
Memorable Moments:
-Rolled a NAT 1 and set a fruit stand on fire with a flaming arrow (it ended up exploding)
-Drank a random potion and was turned into a goose for a day. Honking and mayhem ensues
-Shot an arrow at an enemy (in the air), missed, and the arrow came back down and hit Gron in the shoulder (he’s fine 😅)

Boob bird? Hehe! XD Anyway, nice to see someone keeping an eye on the disaster duo. XD And someone to be responsible--at least as responsible as she can be--for the party. ^!^ Sounds like her orderliness is the primary thing that clashes with everyone. XD Hehe! Sounds fun. ^!^ Though I'm a little dubious on the way that nat 1 played out. How's a fruit stand explode? XD
As for her design: Wooowie! ^!^ So complex. But not because of her clothes, but her feathers! ^!^ A nice neutral brown base to help the golden yellow, blueish grey, black, the orangish-yellow, and white, and even her tan wings stand out! ^!^ Love the spots on her thighs and shoulders that look like they're mirroring each other. ^!^ That is to say, the thigh spots are mirroring the shoulder ones, not just each other. Love the designs on her head, especially that cool looking v-shaped grey stripe! Actually, it's kinda bird-shaped. ^!^ Hehe! So many colorful patterns on her head! So good, and kinda look like a helmet. Hehe. Maybe a Power Ranger helmet for the ranger here? XD Her eyes actually kinda take a back seat being darker, but that helps highlight the rest of her face. ^!^ Especially her beak! So pretty! ^!^ Love that shade of blue. ^!^ It's unique to her beak! ^!^ I love what you did with her talons. Having the yellow scales start at the wrists and knees. It's a bit of asymmetry that really helps both sets of limbs stand out from each other. ^!^ And all those black stipes and spots all over her, especially her tail, add just to right touch to help tie in the look on her wings! ^!^ You did a great job on her feathers, both tail and wings. ^!^ I love how the tan of her wings acts as a canvas for the rest of her. ^!^ But still stands out with all the black spots, and those big black tops, to create a complimentary display. ^!^ Really nice! ^!^
And then there's her outfit. Simple, but effective. ^!^ A nice dark grey dress(?) with asymmetrical buckles to match the belts on her left leg--adding to the asymmetric ascetics--and some nice and simple blueish-white designs (nice bird design on the bottom there btw) and trimming that compliment all the darker colors of her clothes and feathers. Plus they match her boots! ^!^ And those boots help her talons, with those weaponized caps, stand out! Love the practicality of those caps, btw. Plus they go with her yellow scales. ^!^ And her shoulder pads! ^!^ Which also work well with her brown and bluish-grey feathers on her shoulders. ^!^

Clothes are still a weak spot, but it felt nice to focus more on her actual look than on her clothing, hers are the second simplest to do for me. Practicality was also a big thing, which I’m so glad I nailed, it was harder than I thought it would be to keep in mind 😅
As for the nat 1, the fire arrow didn’t cause the explosion, it started the very fast escalation to end with an explosion. The fire arrow hit the fruit stand, it burst into flames, and the fire spread to a nearby powder keg which exploded (thanks to the beautiful mind that is our DM). It was a spectacular fail
Clothes are still a weak spot, but it felt nice to focus more on her actual look than on her clothing, hers are the second simplest to do for me. Practicality was also a big thing, which I’m so glad I nailed, it was harder than I thought it would be to keep in mind 😅
