A really quick colored sketch of my otter character, Kale. I wanted to fully render this but also want to get something as reference in time for Art Fight, which I know seems ways away but I don’t have a lot of time and might not get to finish a ref for him.
I keep calling him a pirate, but really in my world he’s a captain of his ship and works for the crown. He sails the seas and battles pirates actually. I call him a pirate because he acts like one. He’s cocky and has a potty mouth and does not have a filter, although he is fiercely loyal to his crew and is willing to die for them. He absolutely despises wearing his official sea navy regalia and prefers “pirate clothes”. His favorite color is black.
I see him as kind of a mix between Prince Caspian (the Ben Barnes one) and Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things. In other words, a handsome asshole.
