I've been working on this for something like three weeks off and on, but it's finally done! My own fursona on the left with the lovely Ainsley, property of Paredolia on DA. I've been wanting to draw these two together for a while, just because there's a nice juxtaposition with their types of unicorn. Besides, Ainsley's colour scheme is seriously one of the funnest things to colour - I just love the bright red with white.
Also, while the clothing could have been done...a LOT better, I am in love with my first attempt at steampunk weaponry. The sword scabbard needs a twist to let go of the sword (just to be needlessly compli-I mean, so that it doesn't fall out!), and the crossbow and Ainsley's gauntlet shoot some kind of laser bullets. Yup.
By the by, I was inspired to do something steampunk by
mialythila 's comision binge, which has a whole lot of steampunk in it! She's still got some slots left to sell and has a killer deal on right now. Go check her out!
Technical stuff! Base colours on the ladies was done with Promarkers, highlights and shadows (as well as that cog in the background) with faber castel coloured pencils, and the backbround was painted with tea. Yay tannin!
My fursona is, of course, mine, and as I said Ainsley is the property of Paredolia on DA. You should go see her art. I kinda love it.
