It was 2012; an officer apparently Googled the word "Workhorse", stumbled upon my drawing and asked to use it for his battalion.

They actually do make a form of profit, active service USMC here. They dont tend to sell commercially outside their unit, but with things like challenge coins and other unit "swag" you'll tend to see units selling at a SLIGHT upcharge of whatever their true production cost is, no different to whatever company, such as vanguard for challenge coins, if they use it, tend to make some profit from the procurment of "swag" using unit logo's. This profit TENDS to be for unit "moral" such as for the marine corps its used for unit events, marine corps balls, and other related things
