This is a little something from my final year diploma game project (with which I have been pretty busy lately, hence the lack of submissions.)
As you may have guessed, the game will be a horror/survival game. With actually a big part of point&click gameplay. You will play a little girl in a very strange house.
The game itself will not be in 3D but I am using 3D as a basis for the environments and the monsters will be modelled and animated in 3D. (with probably a lot of photoshop/after-effects post-prod.)
So, here is the Naked Atrocity, also nicknamed "Cotelette" (cutlet / lamb chop) who is one of the monsters of the game.
The base model was made with 3DSmax and then detailled in Mudbox.
They are still WIPs but I felt like sharing since I have been pretty quiet here for a while. :)
Also, more stuff from the diploma project on my blog :)

Well, no. It will use 3D elements but the game engine I am using is a 2D engine (Multimedia Fusion).
I modelled the whole house and do renders as a base for the actual in-game images. I paint over the renders in photoshop and use After Effects to do light effects and small animations. Only the monsters will have a 3D look though they will also undergo some (maybe) heavy post-production.
The game is 100% 2D gameplay but I thought it would be interesting to use 3D and mix medias. I also wanted to use 3Dsmax and Mudbox because I need to learn those softwares and this could be the perfect occasion.
