The Ontake volcano, one of the most dangerous in Japan, is located on the island of Honshu. It consists of a stratovolcano with a wooded structure and the top lightly filled with solidified lava flows, which prevents vegetation from developing (Similar to Semeru and Merapi in Indonesia), with its last known eruption having occurred in 2014, which resulted in death of 43 people and left several others homeless and injured.
