'w'! Oh! Sonic fans have been affected by this rule since it's original conception. This broadened it to Pokemon, Digimon, Chibi styles, Cute styles, Yoshi, Koopas, Kobolds, and anything 'dwarf' or 'small' now. MLP is likely to get hit by it, but not as hard seeing as a large brony fanbase resides here... But so does a large pokefur fanbase... So we'll see! 'w'!
;w;... I worry for myself, I have many short characters, but no art of them... Without the visual stimulus, they cannot see their proportions, but now people will just imagine them as how halflings look (shrunk humans) instead of what dwarves look like (Short and stout proportions, 'shortstacks'). ;w;...
It still feels absurd to be going after stuff that has some childlike/cutsie qualities. There is a pretty damn big difference between "This character is chibi and has cutsey proptions" and "This character is a child". Things can absolutely cross a line, but the policies as they were before seemed to handle that fine. Ratcheting up the threshold is just not needed.
I do agree with this, whole-heartedly.
I get that they don't want to appear to condone child-abuse, rape, and other such crimes. However, most of the artwork of cute critters, are often creatures that tend to look that way, even when they're full-grown and mature.
