Diurn Isle is a floating country that orbits a tiny sun.
It is cut off from the rest of the world because the gravity fields which keep it afloat make travel difficult, and it is subsequently stuck in the middle ages.
Salak is king of said island due to his intelligence, and magical ability which can broadcast orders across a vast distance via jawbone sound conduction.
