The Lockbreaker Mk. II is a re-variation of the original prison gun that was designed to be a contraband weapon made by inmates. Very little is known about the origins of this weapon, but its design was adopted by the Mettaurian Federation to be a lockbreaker, a gun that is designed to force open locks to doors or chests or any particular surface that is sealed behind a locker.
The Lockbreaker Mk. II is only slightly bigger than its original variant, the Manhack, and bigger than a 2.7mm Kolibri, but it cannot deal major damage unless fired point-blank to the face. This version comes with a taped grip for a better grip on the weapon, and a last-ditch attempt to hold it together. To discharge this weapon, a shell packed with gun-powder is placed and shafted through the rear of the weapon. The shell is to have a fuse from behind, and is to be lit. Once the fuse is lit, the barrel of the Lockbreaker is to be placed directly at the sight of a lock hole. When the fuse is burnt away, the added pressure in the barrel reaches to a critical point will break the lock.
Despite it's heinous and crude design, it has been made useful to other factions who may not have access to other tools to break locks. More often than not, it is used by ground forces in the Sovereign Defense Front and by civilians in the Republic of Aurora. It's cheap, small, simple, and easily concealable.
