Mettaurian Revolutionary Guard (2019 - present)
Posted August 29th, 2021
The years 2017 through 2020 were the game changers for multiple factions in and out of the Unique Alliance and the Legion of the Void, because in 2017, the War against the Void and the war on Terror was in full sweep. Several factions inside the Legion of the Void had changed sides, rendering themselves as rivals instead of sworn enemies. Due to this, a third alliance, known as the Legion of Odyssey came into play.
By 2017, terrorist factions like the Blackwing NSP, Downcast, Ghost Folk, Diamondbacks, and the return of the R.E.D. Coalition were on the full offensive across the nations of the world. While many of the UA factions and the Legion of the Void were battling for ground, the Legion of Odyssey fought for the annihilation of both sides, death for glory.
The Mettaurian Federation's front in that year was their battle against the Downcast, a Mettaurian extremist faction hellbent on overthrowing its leadership and using its infrastructure to impose world domination across the planet. By mid 2018, the Legion of Odyssey was losing its power after several allies of the Downcasts started to break off. One by one, Downcast grew weaker and isolated from its former allies, and it was forced to go into hiding again.
By 2018, the Legion of the Void was already having several factions leaving to join the Legion of Odyssey only to seek mass destruction of both alliances opposed to it. The Reign of Darkness especially was beginning to turn the tide of its evil history to begin assisting the Unique Alliance. The Reign of Darkness and Nocturnus eventually started to switch sides after another kingdom similar to them, the Chaosshade, came into play. The conflict on Earth and on Sephiroth eventually started to reach out to other dimensions, Odyssey was expanding its fronts to other worlds untouched by the UA and the Legion of the Void, thus introducing more and more factions outside the Solar System into the battlefield.
2019, Operation Odyssey is launched. A small band of agents had access to the most advanced technology that was capable of time travel, the Agents Behind the Curtain, as they were called by external forces, this was a fight that was taken into space, but into time as well. The motive behind Operation Odyssey was for the agents who were leading this entire scheme, to change history as they knew it, into a future and present which the Unique Alliance never existed, nor the Legion of the Void. A future without the alliances that existed before them, and a world where history is alternated to the Agents' advantage.
While the UA and LV took the fight for their timeiine to the Legion of Odyssey, the Mettaurian Federation still had its own matters to attend to. In 2020, with Operation Odyssey still in effect, domestic matters came into effect for their empire. Africa sought revolution, not against the Mettaurian Federation, but the federation against its own high command. After Downcast was finally apprehended in 2020 with the help of the Shadows of Acheron (a faction owned by
Raptor052 ) and the Skywing Parliament, the Mettaurian Federal High Command went on a power-play and massacred its prisoners rather than punishing them humanely.
The Federation's outer chains of command condemned this action, but were eventually silenced by the High Command so that they couldn't speak their mind about their basic rights violations. People across Africa and the Middle East grew angry, restless, and they sought retribution for the High Command for carrying out its abuse of power. Only did it make matters even worse.
Protesters took to the streets, and they were joined by the Federation's officials. The High Command grew furious and paranoid, and they imposed violence in the streets, unwilling to let the people speak out for a change in their government. As the High Command responded with deadly force, both the Federation's military forces and outer chains of command retaliated with violence in return. People grew furious, and scared for their lives.
From early to mid 2021, Operation Odyssey had ended with the timeline successfully secured. However, a civil war was ignited in Northern Africa as the Mettaurian Federation finally shatters after 4 years of unification. The Mettaurian Armed Forces break from the empire, as the High Command raises its own faction to force the empire to reunify together, bringing forth the Mettaurian Council for Unity. Non-Mettaurian citizens created a resistance that assisted the Mettaurian forces that opposed their own High Command. African resistance fighters have created the Sovereign Defense front in opposition to the MCU.
With the civil war effecting sovereign states like Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Western Sahara and Tunisia, the MCU started off strong, providing a powerful and practically impenetrable defense across Egypt, the state in which the High Command was first established. With the UA having returned, with the Legion of the Void having made itself as allies, they started to get involved in the war after realizing the crimes the MCU has committed. LV factions like Nocturnus, Cyclic Order, and Yulruk Regiment took to the warzone, but their efforts were minimal. The Anthro Rights Coalition gets involved and they assist the Mettaurian Army by securing Morocco from the MCU.
Despite the blood and carnage that ravaged the northern states, in July 2021, the MCU surrendered after losing several states and commanders to all of its opposition, whom were killed in action, or captured alive. After the surrender of the MCU, the Mettaurian Federation had replaced its old leadership with a more democratic government, one that listened to the voices of the people and acknowledged their cries for change, for redemption, and for peace and prosperity.
The northern states that were caught in the crossfire have begun reconstruction, and are still being rebuilt, with several memorial sites to honor those who had sacrificed so much to put an end to the corruption and mourn for those who had fallen. The government had changed into one that is more supportive and protective, rather than one that is controlling and turns a blind eye.
With the blood and carnage of the past finally coming to an end, the Mettaurian Federation and Sovereign Defense Front have yet to make amends to the future of the continent, a future that will promise peace, freedom, and prosperity. With the MEV-5 vaccine having been deployed, both humans and anthros were immune to the Mettaurian's deadly touch. Mettaurians now sought to solve third-world problems like ending world hunger, providing cleaner water reserves and promoting safer neighborhoods and schools and an end to the black market to save animals from endangerment and extinction.
With a road to peace now in play, technology for the Mettaurians had also skyrocketed, leaving their outdated and makeshift equipment mostly for reserves or in the past. Mettaurian soldiers now began to use Advanced Tech arsenal and armory, providing a stronger and more effective infrastructure, while sharing this technology with the Sovereign Defense Front.

The common Mettaurian Revolutionary Guards is no longer wearing the casual formal uniforms, but is now dressed in a green jumpsuit, and wearing an exotic new helmet reverse engineered from the Republic of Aurora. The M21 Challenger Helmet provides thicker plated protection for the back of the skull and the studs on the sides of the Mettaurian's head. The visors also provide shade for better cooling for the soldier when out in the sun. The Revolutionary footsoldier also came with more body armor and an exoskeleton suit that enhances mobility, dexterity, weapon stability and handling, and cyber and physical combat effectiveness.
Advanced Tech weapons like the ERR-7 RAIDER variant of the AK-47 became the next standard issue of the Revolutionary Guard.
Mettaurian Armor References are currently WIP.
