It had been a week since the incident, and she hadn’t left her room ever since. She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling with one hand on her midriff, letting the cool air of the atmospheric systems breeze over her. It was growing harder and harder to ignore the growing discomfort brewing inside her belly; which as of late was slowly losing its tone and lean definition. She was nervous, but that nagging part of her mind told her she needed to accept the reality of her situation eventually.

“Gods dammit…” Richelle cursed, she’d been so close to getting back to normal. Another day without contact and she’d have been able to go about her life again without the burden of her own insane fertility. And yet, one slip up, and one test later and the dreaded eventuality had come to pass.

“I am never gonna live this down when they find out…” she grumbled, thinking not only of Ildiko but of her own estranged family. “Ugh… I just hope I won't turn out looking like my mom…Oh who am I kidding the way she ended up looking… there is no way I won’t end up like a blimp…”

She thought to herself some more, turning her head to look at the positive reading on the test she’d used. She’d need to come out eventually, she couldn’t hide there in her room forever, especially if that engineer spoke with Ildiko. Maybe she could simply hide it for a short while before telling anyone. Not even Ashden needed to know for a while…She’d hate to have Ashden see her in this vulnerable state in her life.

How could she be a strong defender like this…?
