Before I got seriously into "Furry" art and comics, I was an avid model builder, but my interests were beyond the scope of the tanks, ships and aircraft from WW II that the others were modeling. In 1988 I cobbled together a model snow plow featuring a mini tank turret made from cast epoxy putty, and a crew of "Anthropomorphic Animals" who had taken the rig over. A deer-morph by the name of "Vinado" is at the wheel, while a raccoon wearing a Cub's jacket and wielding a baseball bat rides "Shotgun." Smokey, chomping on a cigar is at the ready in the turret, while a Toxiphilite Mink and a "Punk Puma" hang on for dear life.

I must confess it was the image of a "Six-By" carrying the disabled hull of an M 113 APC with the VADS on it as an improvised gun truck during the Vietnam conflict that inspired the model. Yeah. It amazes me how the soldiers are upgrading already heavily armored weapons carriers into gun trucks over in Iraq. Some things never change, it seems.
Roy, there's this website called Starship Modeler you ought to submit photos like this to! They'd eat it up! It's a sci-fi/fantasy modelers forum and webstore I go to frequently. https://www.starshipmodeler.com
They have a gallery section for pics like yours for other modelers to "ooo" and"Ahhh!" over. :)

The "Triple Threat" Tank like thingee? Paul Winchell must be a spinnin' in his grave! (Whoo! Somebody's got a lot of MONEY and a creative fiberglass company. I enjoyed watching the reactions of the road crews and officials as the goofy cars rolled by. This might be a new trend, kinda like "CosPlaying for Cars."
Sorry. I showed it at three IPMS meets and won only one photo placque because I was a member of the club holding the meet. The other clubs kinda snubbed me because they looked upon science Fiction modeling as a "Abomination" on the craft. In other words if it wasn't festooned with Nazi symbols or looked like an F-4 it wasn't even looked at.
...No... I'm not bitter.

Huh! Well, you've got every right to be perturbed - their taste is all in their mouth
There must be some venue out there that appreciates quality sci-fi models like the ones you build! Certainly if Fur Cons had model competitions, you can bet this'd take a big prize :)

There IS a venue of Science Fiction and figure modeling that meets regularly, and they hold a big, annual convention in Las Vegas. The "Mad Modelers Party" used to be in Pasadena, but moved to Las Vegas about ten years ago. They specialized in "Garage" resin kits and "One of a kind" modified figure and vehicles. I'm not sure if the local IPMS chapters approve of such things, but I've been told that there is a small contingent of fantasy modelers up here in the desert. Like Iron filings to a magnet, I'll find them, or they'll find me.
Back when my eyes and skills were sharper in 1988, I sculpted all the figures from epoxy putty over wire frames. Each one is unique, and I'm sure there aren't any others like them. My favorites were the deer-morph driver, the bow wielding mink, and of course the Punk Puma hanging on for his life. Although you can't see him too well, even the spade wielding Smokey Bear is a complete figure.
every now and then I still buy those little plastic animals from the hobby shop with the intent of one day making them into characters http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9508849/ or http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17638556/
Oh! I've seen those. They're closer to 1/2oth scale which is a bit big, but I've found some of those "Choco Surprise" toy animals that are closer to scale, and made of stryene plastic too. The trouble is, because of the choking hazard, the Choco Eggs and Australian "Yowees can't be sold here in the US... Kinda. They can be ordered on line though.
