งูเขียวหางไหม้ท้องเหลือง.
Cryptelytrops albolabris.
Of all the Pit Vipers that occur in Thailand, Cryptelytrops albolabris (in some older publications and books, it might still be classified under Trimeresurus albolabris, though, as the classification of these has been quite the controversial debate for years) most likely is the best known one. Its common name derives from its lips being framed white, though it can be hard to spot - especially when the mouth is closed. This meaning is shared in the English, German and Latin name, while in Thai, its name emphasises the yellow belly.
There is quite the sexual dimorphism between sexes - females grow larger and stronger (as it is with the majority of snakes), while males stay much smaller and are also prown to be coloured more vividly (males tend to have an additional, lateral white stripe that goes along the sides of the whole body while this stripe is usually weaker or even completely absent in females).
Being Pit Vipers, they are venomous and even though it is not considered dangerous, a bite from this animal can still ruin your day big time.
