Really these dogs just look like wolves but pure bred ones don't have wolves in their recent lines.

His shy timid behavior is probably just his personality. I've only ever met one of these dogs in person and she was very friendly and wanted to meet everyone she saw. Hahaha. I think it's individual personality, my Border Collie is super shy to new people but warms up quickly while others are extremely friendly.

Well, he's an ex-pound dog.
Though he has papers we don't really know if he's a purebreed.

At least his hunting instinct would match with a real wolf...

Yea, a lot of the malamute and husky dogs have a good hunting instinct too.
