So some of you might know I have a bit of a thing for rodents. Naturally, this lead to me liking skaven, though a different kind than normal. In this case, part of the Age of Sigmar setting, where an entire civilization of people were warped by wild beast magic into rat forms by a "Living Spell" that was trying to get at a deposit of warpstone and skaven under their city. As a result of all that beast magic plus the skavens' presence, they became skaven, but kept their mind, along with various odd animal mutations in addition, like Silverhood's fluffy tail and ram horns.
He's a Bright Wizard, aka fire-magic specialist. Because magic in Warhammer is highly semantic, fire-magic involves both literal and metaphorical heat and hotness, from hot-blooded rage and fiery passion to soothing warmth of a hot spring and hot food, so he uses it for everything from cooking and keeping at a comfortable temperature to smothering wildfires and creating explosions to fend off foes. He's also a Trade Pioneer, those that explore, seeking to connect people through trade, so being an adventurer was a natural fit.
So he's the kind of rat that would open up a food cart in a city, bringing the spicy, tongue-numbing cuisine of his home-realm of Aqshy to wherever he happens to be, using special spells to create spiciness from just a touch and cook with the same, or conjure a fire elemental to handle the cooking while he took orders. Because of his affinity for that kind of magic, his eyes flicker and glow orange like small suns, and he has the Aqshy symbol of the "Key to Power" permanently dyed into his fur on a magical-genetic level.
When using his magic, he tends to light up, since Warhammer has a weird thing about Bright Wizards' hair turning into fire. So for example at first the tips of his whiskers might smolder, his paws might boil a water puddle he steps in or water instantly evaporates during rain the moment it touches him without harming allies that touch him, then his fur starts lighting on fire, starting with that mane between his ears, and his tail, then more and more of his fur ignites without harming him the more magic he draws on.
