She was knee deep now, the mud having filled up her boots... which acted as an effective anchor. She could pull herself down with her leg strength, and really sink herself down quickly. But as the squishy, soft, cool, wet mud engulfed her legs, she squirmed, paws flexing in her boots.
"Feels nice..."
There were mud spas, right? She could see why, now. It felt so soothing on her sore muscles, cool and wet on her skin. She shook her head, and looked down in surprise.
"You're quicksand, right? You're supposed to be deadly, dangerous, challengin'! Not... creamy, and thick... and soft..."
...Heck, she had worked so hard today — she definitely earned some relaxing rest!
"Ah, to heck with it. I'm sure there ain't nothing wrong with me taking a short break..."
And so, with a big smile, she sank deeper, pleased with the opportunity to be basking in the earth - taking it easy, just this once.
