The Shield-Crown Neobehemoth is another large mammalian herbivore native to the continent of Arcadia. It inhibits the southern part of the continent, specifically on the edge of the vulcanic area.

Its namesake, the shield-like structure present in both males and females of the species, is a sturdy defensive weapon. That, along with the fairly sturdy cartilaginous structure located on its throat (the cartilage gives it a slightly angular look) and the armor plates on the top side of its body, make this animal into a walking fortress. Few predators dare to try and attack the Shield-Crown Neobehemoth; even those who normally aim for the flanks of their prey, as the behemoth's hide is naturally very thick and tough.

Being so well-defended makes this creature fairly indifferent toward most other inhabitants of the arid lands. Regular humanoids are mostly outright ignored as, outside of high-tier destructive magic, they are virtually incapable of hurting a healthy adult, or even a baby.
