Well, that angle is done intentionally if you notice his background also keeps to the new angle. This break up of panel flow is done for 2 reasons. One is to prevent the frames from being too plain and redundant by switching the perspective of a panel. This helps push a view or convey an emotion. The 2nd reason I fliped this panel is so you could have a more heart felt counseling perspective as if you were seeing from the first characters point of view rather that from the outsiders perspective. This just helps break things up. You are correct I could have flipped him to keep his original pose but I chose to go with a pose that brought the reader into the comic. Hope that made sense hehe however I hear what you're saying. The way you mentioned is also correct.
