When I went to upload Loewy’s new profile picture, I realized I’d already uploaded it here for my first pic back. So here’s the undersketch of that one.

Loewy and Yosie Afterlight are the last two Sunspot kids to join the household, after they arrive on an emergency foster placement. 14 year old Loewy is determined to protect infant Yosie from harm, especially after being violently attacked by his own mother. As he recovers from his own trauma, both physical and mental, he’s also trying to figure out how to adapt to living with the eccentric Sunspots and what it’s like to be loved unconditionally. That’s a LOT for a seemingly shrimpy leafy seadragon. But as it turns out, this small fry is hiding some incredible strength.

With a mind bordering on the savant, and an incredible passion for knowledge, Loewy is an empathetic, exuberant and highly spirited leafy seadragon. A lifelong learner who dives headfirst into books, movies, podcasts.. anything to fuel his academic thirst. And with his special interests being music and performing arts history, it’s no wonder this frilly fry thinks he’s being pranked by the universe when one of his foster parents is none other than pop star Artisan Sunspot.

Generally good-natured and chatty but with a strong sense of justice, Loewy refuses to start a fight. Finishing them is a different story; once someone else throws hands all bets are off. But these moments are rare; the most you’ll usually get from him is some rapid fire sass, maybe a Shakespearean inspired insult or two. And if he’s in cahoots with his pseudo twin Annaliese, you’d probably better hope you’re not on the receiving end of whatever they’re planning…
