Even thou I really despise the concept of Monarchy, I was watching the coronation of Charles III the other day, because I am a history buff and it was a historic event. One thing I noticed (despite how silly and out of place all of this is in the 21th century) was how utterly miserable Charles looked through the whole event. Maybe Ghost Diana is still haunting the King of all Britons?

I watched the coronation broadcasts. They have the momentum motherfuckers! 🔥
The spectacle and setting throughout this cathedral was a real masterpiece and a feast for the ears. Until I switched from TV sound to a set of better speakers for a better experience. I had shivers! Also, even though it's a bit far from the UK for me. This is the first time in my life I have seen such an event, and the British have seen such a celebration for many years. Wow! 😃
As for Princess Diana... Well, that's a mystery. And there are as many conspiracy theories around her death and Karol's affair with his current wife as there are theories about flat earth, reptilians or an invented pandemic. It's a pity to delve into it in my opinion, but I suspect that this thread certainly divided the royal family. Such a thread certainly affected the children, the royal family and Charles himself. After all, Henry and William, as still small children, lost their mother. This is a sad story.

yeah, i thought it was weird how sad he looked, my step dad figured it was the weight of the responsibilities coming down on him, although if you ask me, the royal family are pretty much figure heads at this point, just something for tourists to gawk at, they've barely had a say in anything for years now
Conspiracies aside, Diana and her death has cast a long shadow over the royal family, and her ghost indeed still haunts them to this very day.
Yeah, the coronation is out of place in today's world, but it is quite the spectacle to see, I'll admit. Good show, as the Brits would say.

Heh. Technically he's now Head of State of my country on the other side of the planet... so technically he's my king. 🤪
For what it's worth. Personally, after the ruckus over republican protesters being pre-emptively arrested on coronation day, Aotearoa becoming a Republic by making the current governor-general Head of State is looking to be not a bad idea.

I think the ceremony was a bit... do we really have to do this? If it was more glamours with a ton of pomp, I think it would have been more entertaining and a statement to the world that the UK can still be great even if not apart of the EU anymore. As it was, it looked like a weak man, wearing his grandfathers hand me downs, wearing a small woman's crown, trying to be impressive, while trying not to appear like a old man who knew he wasn't long for this world. Adding insult to injury, I think it made his nation look like its broke, weak, and miserable.
