This was supposed to be a multi-page origin comic for Kratzkralle.
What his life was like before he croaked and became a shinigami in the afterlife.

Japanese reading direction because teenage me was a huge weaboo.
Apparently the character was also japanese back then despite not looking like it lol.

The text (in german) reads as follows, from top right to bottom left:

"I grew up in a run-down part of a city in Japan..."

"The skyscrapers concealed the sun, we cursed the tall buildings made from steel and glass..."
