Perhaps the reason Nemo gets fat and becomes small again, and then is surprised when he becomes fat again is because every time this happen time rewinds.
Every fatty picture is just the end result of doomed parallel future. So actually it's never happened before to his conscious mind, but it's happened thousands of times before pandimensionally.
