As my D&D character, most of Oats' iconic moments are happen in combat, so usually when I doodle him, he's in the middle of casting a spell, brandishing his spellbook, or biting someone's kneecaps.
I rarely draw him as the kind, chipper fella that he is. Which is a shame because it's what I love most about him!
In any case, the horns and fangs are new! They come from the D&D campaign, in which our party spent just a BIT too long in a fey village. The rampant magic changed our characters, and Oats ended up with these. D&D Oats and sona Oats are two separate entities, but after doodling it once, I found the idea so charming that I simply had to adopt them for the sona as well. He thinks he's so frightening with these tiny horns and teefs!
As a side note, after drawing this, I feel more certain than ever that I chose the right sona. I feel more attached to Oats than any other avatar or persona I've ever used. I look at this li'l mouse rat creature and it just feels... right.
