I did my ref sheet for Vinny, so it's only fair that I did one for my boy Remi too. Unlike Vinny, who I came up with about 12 years go, Remi is a new addition, who I came up with about 2 or so years ago out of the necessity for Vinny to have a little friend to pal around with. Remi is mostly inspired by Kristofferson from Fantastic Mr. Fox. Mostly in the way of looks, but some facets of his personality are drawn from Kriss. Those that have been following me for a while will be familiar with Remi, but it's time the boy got himself a proper introduction. So with out further ado, let me introduce to you my boy, Remi.


What to say about this boy? Here we have Remi Beaurenard, otherwise known as Remi Fox, or just Remi by close company. Remi is a French fox, born and raised in France where he's lived most of his life until recently when he made the move to America for personal reasons. Remi is a twenty-something years old red fox with naturally blonde fur. Like his friend Vinny, Remi is a joyful little fox that's full of energy and determination. This determination is what helps drive Remi forwards in whatever it is he's doing to achieve his goals, and is a core facet of his personality. Remi's friends would describe him as honest, polite, supportive, helpful, and overall a pleasure to be around. Remi always tends to brighten the mood of whatever room he enters without really even trying. Remi is a natural born showman and can easily captivate the attention of others when he speaks. He loves to be the center of attention, and has no problem carrying on lengthy conversations with nearly anybody, or acting like a goofball to prove a point. Remi loves to talk about his own life experiences, and loves to hear about other people's stories as he believes everybody has an interesting story to tell. Overall, just like his friend Vinny, Remi is a sweet and outgoing little guy that only wants to forge his own spot in the world. He doesn't care how he does it, all he knows is he wants to leave it, and make it distinctly "Remi", so to speak.

Despite the similatities between him and his friend Vinny Fox, Remi is his own person and is distincly different. Remi is much more confident in most walks of life than Vinny is, and isn't afraid to push forward with actions and ideas that may upset others. On the flipside, Remi has a talent for reading the emotions of other people through language and expression, which allows him to approach and interact with others in his own unique way. Remi is good at disarming and defusing agitated people. Remi isn't afraid to take up for himself or others if he feels like he needs to. While not a proponent of physical violence, Remi is more combative than Vinny and isn't afraid to butt heads with others to defend what he believes important. While he can be combative, these traits can also allow Remi to act as a talented mediator whenever a voice of reason is needed for a difficult situation. In these ways and more, Remi can act as a pillar of support for his friends, providing them with unique insight to problems and intuitive ways to find solutions. Remi is about as smart as his friend Vinny is. Like Vinny, he hasn't been IQ tested since he was a kit, but Remi is swift to learn new tasks and molds himself easy into social situations, so the blonde fox knows he isn't all that dumb!


Remi does have his own personal demons though. For one, Remi is highly concerned with his own appearances as he believes himself to be a "pretty boy" and he takes strides to reinforce this to himself. He showers twice daily, shampoos his fur daily, brushes twice a day, buys nice colognes, knows how to color match, brushes his fur, and of course, trims his whiskers (Remi's whiskers are very important to the him). Remi's main locus of concern is focused around "Am I beautiful enough?". Remi will take great strides to maintain his status as a "beautiful boy". Since he's French trying to fit in in the US, Remi can come off on others as "snooty" or "haughty" or "demanding" which can cause flak with others. Remi is a confident boy who simply knows what he wants and likes, and while he tries not to trample over others, he won't back down from achieving his own goals. This can cause Remi to come to odds with others that otherwise wouldn't happen. Remi also has a crush on Vinny Fox, which causes him to want to stay close and care for Vinny in any way he can. He can't be his mate (because Vinny is taken!) but he can be his best little friend (with benefits sometimes!)

Well I think that's a good little synopsis of Remi's character. There's so much more I could add as I've thought heavily about this boy for a while now, but honestly if I had to I could write a book about Vinny & Remi. Instead I'll just leave things as they are! I also don't know how many people will be willing to read all of my bullshit XD. Now that all that is out of the way, here's some miscellaneous character traits:

Remi is French.
Remi can speak French (his creator cannot, so Remi will only ever be shown speaking English).
Every word that falls out of Remi's mouth is said with a heavy accent.
Even though Remi can speak English, he makes frequent mistakes in grammar and syntax when speaking. He often refers to himself in third person.
Remi has a crush on Vinny.
Remi is a boy. He/him.
Remi is gay, but very picky about his partners.
Remi can be drawn with 4 or 5 fingers.
Remi is a short little guy like Vinny. He edges Vinny out by a few inches, and is 5'2" tall.
Remi is highly concerned with the status of his whiskers. He makes sure to trim, brush, and polish them.
Walks plantigrade
The bottoms of his footpaws have black color pawpads, while his handpaws have now pawpads at all.
The name Beaurenard is a play on words, it means "beautiful fox", which is apt considering Remi's attitude.

Wow! I wrote more for Remi than I did for Vinny! But to be fair, Vinny does have an established history while Remi is an all new product! Like I said above, I could write a whole book on Remi and Vinny and their little personality traits and flaws and whatnot, but I think that expressing those through art will be more effective. Regardless, I hope everybody likes my boy here, Remi is as excited to make his splash as Vinny is ^^!
