Something in the distance has caught Tomuna’s attention. What could it be? The scents touching our noses are very faint, but enough to arouse our suspicion and our fear. Has someone else come in search of shelter just as I had? Is there someone who wants to rob us? Or is it one of the many dangerous creatures we must now hide from? We cannot be sure, but it’s coming closer and closer.
But alas, mere minutes later it turns out to be another survivor. I can see the agony in her eyes, and I know just from this that she needs the sanctuary we can offer. Friendships are valuable in this world, and all may not be lost yet.
