In the end, civilisation collapsed as the final resources were consumed by those who had their immense wealth and not a shred of regard for anyone below them. The years of tribulation are upon us now. While we may appreciate the beauty of nature more than we ever did before, there’s nothing more, no reason for any reason. Now we must work to survive to protect our futures.

Why did this happen? Was it truly the corrupting power of the money that is now a thing of the past? Was it an insatiable desire for power over one’s fellow man, who they crushed underpaw the moment they got in their way? Was it ill preparation on their part? Was it their efforts to suppress the answers to the problems they caused? We can only discuss these things to a certain extent as we huddle together, each other’s company and the warmth from the fire the only thing we still have now. They are answers we may never know for sure.
