As long as they agree to cooperate on keeping the whole thing secret they are free to go (although its almost certain that there's still probably a 'ONE MORE THING' kinda deal with that freedom), Minos being around and it being clear that they have a solid level of trust on him definetly helped their case.
Even knowing that the knights are there poses a danger to both the beefy cat couple and the squires, so making sure everyone is in the same page on how much shit could hit the fan for everyone if that info got out is a must.
