Hmm...didn't it use to be Drex formed the coat himself from his own goo? Nonetheless neat idea. I wonder if you'd have a whole closet of vials like that laying around :P
Also I think I've said this before, but I do like the idea that both the opposing factions here could arguably be the good guys, depending on what the characters in the story think. To me this is usually a lot more interesting than there being obvious characters we're supposed to root for or boo against.

Matter-shifting is extremely strenuous on Drex's body, so he has figured out a way to store the coat in a container instead of having to materialize a new one every time. It is still technically part of him, it just kind of idles there when he's indoors.
And yeah, while I think both DrexCorp and Yanagi-Tech have valid points of view, *how you go about doing things* is going to be a huge theme in this comic.
