March 2023.
What species do I even put here? He's a lemon!
This was shot at a local(ish) park, pretty late in the day. It was a miracle that we got as much sunlight as we did and I will take every little victory I can. This roll was a feeler for a new lab, and the results were excellent.
Metered as an average with a reflectance meter, at ISO 25... Now, I keep hearing Ektar has very little latitude, but I've just never found that to be true. No, you can't underexpose it much, but provided your scanner is playing ball you can happily just vaporize the highlights and get at worst some very pleasant compression. Our bright lemon boi here was many, many stops brighter than the background, and while that may see a slight loss of density, it all still works ok.
I sure I didn't compose this with a tree coming out of his head...
