Voolvif Monn's expression in the second panel is adorable, probably not one that non-Shistavanen get to see all that often. It could be taken two ways I imagine, that Voolvif had a wild idea that turned out to work or that Jokes is right with Voolvif wanting to lighten the mood a little after the tension of the situation with the Zillo Beast.
