So I ended up making this whole animation 'cause I felt like it, and then never posting it 'cause I'm terrible with figuring out what to post when. But I like it a lot and I'm quite proud of it, so I think it deserves some sharing, finally.
At the time when I was making it, I hadn't exactly integrated a few of the important principles for the workflow... among which, filling out every frame instead of constantly skipping every other one. This animation, for example, is functionally 6 FPS, instead of 12, although some frames are in a 12 FPS sequence for fluidity and clarity.
Another important principle I've neglected to use here, but I now realize I should, is separating elements for construction lines. Ears, muzzle, hair and eyes here could've been on a layer separate from the body to make them easier to correct before the "clean" version, and to, potentially, give them more movement where relevant.
That being said, I think it's a good start; at just over 5 seconds, I managed to stuff it with just as much charm as I wanted, and while it might not be a movie or anything, I still consider it an accomplishment. To have managed a project like that despite an inefficient workflow, I think is worth celebrating, in a way, especially as a learning opportunity.
TL;DR I like this animation and working on it made me aware of a couple things I'll keep in mind for future ones. Now who wants some tea?
If you like what I make, please consider supporting me on Patreon! Art and animations are posted there first, and I post the animation WIPs there as well.
