On route 111 of the Hoenn region with his newly caught Chimecho, can't wait to get to Mt Chimney and experience the falling volcanic ash! In the meantime, there are plenty of new pokemon and places to discover along the way such as a Numel farm.
On side note, I love seeing Javi smile. I like to think, he has a nice smile when he does so.
And ponytail is here to stay, I think it's cute. I sort of wish I could grow one myself, but oh well I'll live it through Javi.

Oh my goodness, what a lovely sight to see an awesome submission from ya - and Pokémon themed no less :D
One major thing that stood out to me initially was the attention to the background, I just love how you filled it with life from what the theme is about.
You really feel like Javi here is actually going about his day through this region, and the Pokémon in front of him going about their business as actual living creatures as they would IRL ( well, you know what I mean XD )
I also really enjoy the backward pose, it's pretty difficult to make sure body proportions line up with how they are supposed to be from the back of a character opposed to the front. You did it here excellently, and the really nicely drawn clothing on Javi really sell the idea of just how tangible all of this here is. Like it's physically real and happening, that's such a cool thing to be able to emanate in a drawing!
The coloring/shading is well done too, I like how even/consistent the pencil strokes are. You put a ton of work/effort into this and it shows :)

Aww, really appreciate the comprehensive comment. Indeed this is one of the first new drawings I do in months of Javi.
I like filling the background with "extras" to make it feel natural and have more to discover in the drawing past the main subject. It really is fun filling out a scene little by little be it pokemon or the real world!
I think I messed up the perspective personally haha, but oh well. I'm glad the rest of the details are somewhat able to make up and even distract from that! In this drawing I tried not to worry too much about perfection like smoothness of shading and cleanness of linework, just leave it with a slightly characteristic "rough" edge. It's less stressful and more enjoyable that way.

Great backgrounds are such wonderful additions to a drawing, and if it can sell the idea even better. You did a really nice job of it here and the openness of the land is easily a feel-able reality.

Ah yes, the Hoenn region. With lots of mountains and differente Pokemon, what adventure waits for Javi ahead, maybe he can travel faster on a bike :D, or get lost in the forest down there, or play with the jumping Spoinks xD

And lots of deep ocean to traverse, diving and islands to discover too, Hoenn is one of the most beautiful regions of all the worlds I think.
It will be hard to choose between a fast bike or one that can hop and do tricks jaja [where does a trainer store a bike on his travels, just magically shrinks into his backback? A mystery].
I'm glad, I enjoy these pokemon theme drawings more than any other theme currently. It just makes me feel good and happy inside, and only few things make me feel that way.

I always adore your work so much and seeing these drawings brings me so much joy. Hoenn is probably one of my favorite regions ever, and the first region I’ve ever played! Hoenn is definitely one of the most beautifully natural feeling and diverse of all the regions for sure, and being the first poke games you played I imagine it in particular must also bring you that lovely nostalgia too. Curious to know Dustin's fav pokemon haha.

Ahhh the OST is sooo memorable in those games, I notice lots of use of brass and wind instruments which makes it stand out among the other gens. Sometimes listening to some of the music whether from Yellow through Platinum makes me cry. Like that trumpeting Route 104 ost, powerful and uplifting adventure music if ever there was like "Here we go!". =' ) [I actually like to hum it to myself sometimes among others when jogging haha]
